Chemical Diaphragm Pumps

Chemical handling is where pump selection gets unforgiving — the wrong material in the wrong place fails fast, leaks dangerously, and shuts down operations. Chemical diaphragm pumps from Wilden® and All-Flo™ solve this by combining seal-less AODD operation with chemical-resistant material configurations: PTFE diaphragms for the broadest compatibility, polypropylene, FKM and Buna-N for acid and caustic service.

This catalog is pre-filtered to chemical-handling configurations. Use the filters below to narrow further by diaphragm material, body material, brand, and port size. If you need help matching specific chemistry to the right pump configuration, our pump finder walks through the selection step-by-step.

Why AODD Pumps Excel at Chemical Transfer

Three structural features make AODD pumps, a type of positive displacement technology, the standard for chemical handling. First, they're seal-less — there's no shaft seal to fail catastrophically when chemistry attacks the elastomer. Second, no rotating parts contact the fluid, so abrasion and erosion don't degrade the wetted path the way they do in centrifugal pumps. Third, AODD pumps are intrinsically safe — they run on compressed air, not electricity, which matters in chemical environments where ignition risk and electrical corrosion are real concerns.

Beyond the structural advantages, AODD are inherently self-priming pumps and can run dry without immediate damage — both useful in chemical operations where suction conditions change and operators sometimes drain lines for cleanout or product changeover.

Choosing the Right Materials for Your Chemistry

The two material decisions that drive chemical compatibility are diaphragm material and body material. There are many combinations of diaphragm pump materials that can work for standard chemical-handling, but two of the most common are:

  1. PTFE: the broadest chemical compatibility. PTFE handles strong acids, strong caustics, solvents, and most aggressive chemicals. Standard choice when the fluid is unknown or when compatibility margin matters.
  2. Polypropylene: broad acid and caustic resistance, lightweight, good general-purpose chemical body. Standard for most acid and caustic transfer applications.

The PSG® Store also ships genuine diaphragm pump parts, should you ever need to replace a component of your current system.

Wilden® and All-Flo™ Chemical Configurations

The PSG® Store carries everything from submersible slurry pumps to chemical-resistant configurations from both Wilden® and All-Flo™. Wilden's® chemical-handling AODD lineup is the industry reference for aggressive chemical transfer and includes PTFE-fitted Pro-Flo®, Pro-Flo® Shift and Saniflo™ configurations. All-Flo™ offers reliable chemical-handling options with fast availability for general industrial chemical transfer applications.

Always Verify Chemical Compatibility

No material chart replaces fluid-specific verification. Concentration, temperature, exposure duration, and trace contaminants all affect compatibility, and a material that handles 50% sulfuric acid at room temperature may fail at 80% or at 80°C.

Match Your Chemistry to the Right Pump

Use the filters above to narrow by material configuration, brand, and port size, or use the pump finder if you need help matching specific chemistry to the right pump. The PSG® Store team is also available to validate selection for unusual or aggressive chemistry — pump failure in chemical service is expensive and dangerous, and a 15-minute conversation is cheaper than a wrong specification.
